Associate Editor-in-Chief

Serves as the primary editor and will work closely with the Editor-in-Chief. This position will be tasked with recruiting and on-boarding student reviewers. Expected time commitment is approximately 3-5 hours a week. Stipend of $200 will be given to the associate editor-in-chief for the entire year.

Responsibilities:

  • As needed, serve as a submission editor
  • Attend and contribute to regular editorial board meetings
  • Recruit, assess, and on-board student editors
  • In the absence of the Editor-in-Chief, fulfill certain duties of their position

Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Full-time enrollment at UNC Charlotte as an undergraduate student
    for the 2026/27 academic year
  • Experience in undergraduate research and/or publication (preferably)
  • Demonstrated leadership roles or experience (preferably)

Podcast Director

Responsible for recording, editing, and hosting at least 2 podcasts per semester. This position will have the ability to guide the scope of the podcasts as they relate to undergraduate research, studies, mentorship, and more. Expected time commitment is approximately 3-5 hours a week. Stipend of $200 will be given to the podcast director for the entire year.

Responsibilities: 

  • Manages, produces, and creates podcast content
  • Identifies new guests, coordinate interviews, and develop regular recording schedules
  • Brainstorm content for episodes and promotional strategies
  • Assist writing and proofreading of notes and transcripts
  • Attend and contribute to regular editorial board meetings

Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal communication skills
  • Creative vision for unique podcast content
  • Excited to meet new people and to network with peers
  • Enthusiastic interest in communications, media, digital marketing, and/or podcasting
  • Full-time enrollment at UNC Charlotte as an undergraduate student for the 2025/26 academic year 
  • Previous media, copywriting, audio and/or video production experience (preferably)
